It doesn't appear that this topic has been discussed here before. I am surprised.

I have had lots of great shows here with lovely guys who happen to have tattoos, but I have to admit that I don't really like them that much.

A few months ago I had a premonition that one of my favourites was going to get a tattoo. I was going to discuss this with him, but didn't. Then one day he appeared with a tattoo, and I was a bit disappointed at first. However, it is his body and his decision and I am happy that he feels good with it. The tattoo is nicely done, and not particularly conspicuous. He is still one of my favourites. :winkwink

Members: if one of your favourite models asked if you would like to see him with a tattoo would you say yes or no?

Models: if you don't have a tattoo are you thinking of getting one? If you do have a tattoo, are you glad that you have one? Are you going to get more?

I think it would be interesting to see what everyone thinks about this topic. Do keep it friendly

I decided to get a tattoo on my back a few years back after some very difficult hardships. For those who have tattoos, each one is meaningful in some way. Since I could not find a design I liked at the tattoo shops I went to, I went ahead and designed it myself. I chose a phoenix because of its various iconic and symbolic meanings.

I placed it on my back because I figured that this would be a discreet location. In the area I grew up in, having a tattoo usually meant you were somehow affiliated with gangs or criminal activity. I am very happy with how it looks and with the fact that it reminds me of the things I have gone through and keeps me optimistic about the things to come.

I am considering getting 2 more, one on each arm. I will be designing these as well. Again, they will be subtle and meaningful to me.

Most of the members that have visited my chat room like the tattoo... when they manage to focus their attention on it. Oddly enough, I have to turn around and show them my back several times before they realize my tattoo is not near my cute little butt, but is instead between my shoulder blades.

A very boring answer to an interesting question. I think I would say it's completely up to the model, my likes and dislikes shouldn't really have an effect on his decision and I don't think that it would really make too much of a difference in terms of how I looked at them. I think I would suggest that he get one of the temporary ones first, think a few of the models have them - (Quenzo and Nathan S spring to mind and theirs looked really good)if he likes the way it looks, he can then have permanent, if not no regrets.

I would hope that if any model is thinking of getting a tattoo , they would not be influenced too much by what their fans think. A tattoo is a very personal thing and a pretty big decision.. something you live with for the rest of your life ( unless you get it removed), so you should be sure about it and make a decision based on what you want, not on what a fan likes or dislikes

Thanks for your comments, Bally.

The best reason for having a tattoo seems to be that it is personal, and also meaningful, as Jonathan suggested in post #2. However, I am sure some guys simply think of a tattoo as a kind of body decoration that looks cool. Some may just be copying others.

Good advice that having a permanent tattoo is a big decision that should not be made lightly :thumbsup

I got my first tattoo right when I turned 18. Since then I've gotten 12 more and havent regretted a single one. At the moment I'm working on a shoulder piece and hope to get it colored in soon. As for more pieces....you bet your sweet asses I'll be getting more!! I've actually got a list going of pieces I'll get when my shoulder is done. So far most of you awesome members have liked seeing my ink and I'll gladly give you guys a tour anytime! :evil

Thanks for the responses so far. I realised that it is not fair to ask members to answer the above question when I haven't answered it myself :winkwink

If one of my favourite models asked if I would like to see him with a tattoo, my answer would be "no" for the following reasons:

1. I think his body is beautiful, just as nature intended

2. a tattoo might make his body more interesting, but would not add to the beauty

3. the wrong tattoo, or too many tattoos, could spoil his beauty

4. if he is undecided, then the best advice would be not to have a tattoo. It is a big decision, and he should only go ahead if he is 100% sure.

That is just my personal view, and the nice thing about the forum is that we can all give our different views.

...I have been thinking about this question. Far be it for me to even think that I should be telling a model whether he should or should not be getting a Tattoo, that is certainly up to him. However if the model were to ask my opinion, I would offer it. There are some models who I would not like to see with a tattoo (one's that don't have any already). Some who have tattoo's already, which I like and I don't think getting another would be a bad thing.

...I like the way that Model Johnathon Phoenix replied with his link to his bio page. I checked out your tattoo and I do like it. I also added you to my favorites list after checking some of your VOD's.

I don't hate tattoos but if a model doesn't have any and they said they were thinking of getting one and asked my opinion I would say don't get one. If the model has good muscle definition I say why mess with perfection. Now some tattoos look really good depending where they are on the body. Generally I don't like them if they distract or camouflage but that is not always the case. For example Leonardo Sa has a sleeve tattoo and it looks interesting but it almost hides the definition in his left arm. (of course some pictures show it better than others.) Luckily, his right arm is bare and you can see what he looks like without one. Because of that his is ok in my opinion. I would not have selected it but if he likes it then that is all that matters.

A tattoo is the extreme form of expression if is not a gang/parrot copy/prostitute "tribal" ink . Tattoo(s) define a positive scar and comes great if is not done in "exhibition" way. Great topic and great inputs . To be on topic , nor members/models as virtual environment nor close socialising/professional group circles can decide/care about . It's too personally and impersonally . Tho oppinions are always welcome . Cheers .

I like tattoos when used as art or for individual expression. The performer Leksy for example has a stunning floral design. The performer Charming Edy has a very poetic tattoo. What I don't like is when there are too many separate tattoos; the whole thing just becomes a jumbled mess.

I think many people will feel the same, Kheldar. They may have different views on what is "too many".

I should mention Zethy R, who is one of my favourites. (I highlighted one of his super cum shots in the Best VOD Cum Shots topic).

When I first knew Zethy, he had one tattoo on one arm and 2 on the other. He now has a large tattoo on his chest as well. He may have realised that "more" doesn't necessarily mean "better". Interestingly, I see that he is currently using a bio pic in which he doesn't have any tattoos:

In addition to the number of tattoos, the tattoo should "fit" the person as well. If a guy that is 6'5" 260 pounds, muscular and dominant with a deep voice has a tattoo of Minnie Mouse on his ass, it just wouldn't be a good "fit", you know? :orglaugh

I mentioned at post #15 that Zethy R was now using a bio pic which didn't show his tattoos.

By contrast, Adam Jay has switched to a bio pic which shows his tattoo prominently and he is now in the top 20:

Earlier this month I visited Adam about 5 days running and enjoyed his super Group Chats, so I know the bio pic he was using then. When I saw him change his bio pic I was a bit doubtful. Happy to say I was wrong.
