Ive heard a few things recently regarding smoking in open chat.

My fave models were so happy when the smoking in open room ban was lifted yet the rules havent been updated. Yet in a few rooms, they say that they tried to smoke then got bitched at by VS. And this was a few days ago.

So is the ban lifted or is it only for select few special models?

I want to get to the bottom of this & end the confusion!

yes .. i have seen heaps of models that are allowed to smoke in open chat .. and then some new guys are penalised... so i'd like VS to make their minds up ... one rule for everyone please, to avoid confusion .. i don't like to tell my model friends something that isn't true

I don't know of any model who has been penalized for NOT smoking in open room, so if I was a model I would not smoke in open room :angel

In most countries there are few workplaces where smoking is allowed ... the same should apply to models. Their room is their workplace :angel

oh Jeffie .. i agree... it's just models have been told it's allowed ... so is it allowed or not ?? can we please have some definitive answer on it ... i don't like my favourites being told off for smoking when others can do it without any penalty .. is it just for top 20% or whatever .. what's the ruling? ... it just needs clarifying .. one way or the other...

Smoking laws are set by state in the US. Most states with smoking bans for the workplace have an exception for at-home businesses that don't receive outside visitors. The point of workplace smoking bans is to protect employees and patrons from second-hand smoke. This isn't an issue when you consider the fact that all client interactions take place over an internet connection.

My understanding is in those countries where this bizarre non smoking law has not taken force, models can smoke in private chat only. As a smoker myself I do enjoy a post climax ciggie and likewise enjoy watching model take enjoyment from same.

For a long time the rules said that models were not allowed to eat, drink, smoke, wear sunglasses or use mobile phones in open room

I don't know whether or not the rules were changed, but it seems strange to me that VS would relax the rules

However for a long time VS has not overtly enforced its rules, so it's likely that some models realized they could get away with smoking in open room, just as they realized they can get away with other m!nor breaches of the rules

Most policing of rules these days is done not by VS but by local studio administrators, and it seems to me that if a performer was penalized for smoking the penalty would have been applied by a zealous studio administrator, not by VS

Zach you say that the rules haven't been updated ... that to me means that smoking is still not allowed and that ANY model smoking in open room is in breach of the rules, because the rules apply to all models. Whether or not they get penalized for this breach is another story

Good for you Adam, stay strong and stay away from cigarettes. I quit a while ago, it wasn't easy but now I am glad I quit. Who can afford to smoke, in CT. they are more than $8 dollars a pack :smoking

its a ridiculous rule, theres no harm in smoking something legal in your own home, as long as it doesnt hurt sales lol,
thats that!

Thats why im wondering if Flirt is casting a blind eye to the top models & penalizing the "lesser" models for doing the same thing....

Like what Principals did with Jocks & nerds in the 80s :winkwink

:

You mean, lock them in a library and force them to evaluate their shallow suburbia stereotypes, John Hughes style?

I think most rules are left to the studio to decide and enforced differently on that account.

The smoking ban in open was lifted a few months ago. There haven't been any violations issued for it since. If a model has been told by a monitor differently, they need to contact broadcastsupport@vs.com to discuss the particulars.
